About the Market Place

The Conference Market Place will showcase a diverse range of organizations, products, services, and information. Drawing on inspiration from the host city, designers Bonne Postma and Maarten de Vries have invoked the feel of Amsterdam through incorporating such features as the ubiquitous Amsterdam cafe terraces, local art exhibitions, bicycles, and, of course, sustainability. Amsterdam is one of the greenest cities in the world. As such, all design components brought in will be recycled or reused in a new form. The Market Place, like many of Amsterdam’s famous outdoor markets is defined by its coziness and relaxed atmosphere. Exhibitors and conference participants alike will find the Market Place the perfect area of the conference to meet up with other conference participants, network, review books and magazines from Conference speakers and our media partners at the GRI Library, chat with exhibitors, or simply relax with a coffee or beer.

To add to the diversity and interest of the Market Place, GRI and Conference sponsor ING launched The Big Five Competition. Through this competition, the opportunity to attend the conference and exhibit products, services, or information was extended to small and medium enterprises contributing to the fields of sustainability and transparency in an innovative way. The Competition Winners’ booths can be found throughout the Market Place.
